First and foremost, I am an Army Brat, but unlike most of my friends growing up, I did not have to move around a lot. I was born in Albuquerque, NM and moved to Fort Carson Colorado when I was two. I did not make my way to the great state of Kansas until the ripe age of 11. Once here, I resided in Fort Riley, where I attended Fort Riley Middle School, and Junction City High School. I have recently acquired a new member to my own personal family, which is my dog, Scout.
During my time in both middle and high school, I was highly active in sports and music. I was apart of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Program(JROTC) where I held the position of Company Commander and Unarmed Drill Team Commander. During my time in JROTC, I received many distinctions to include Top Cadet of my company at JROTC Summer Camp, in Fort Sill, OK. My leadership abilities have lead on from there into my current teaching and coaching positions that I hold. |

After high school, I attended Hutchinson Community College, where I received an Associates Degree in Music, and played football. I was a member of three ensembles and played in the Pep Band at basketball games. When I transferred to the University of Kansas (KU), I was a member of the Marching Jayhawks for one year. I was also a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity. After transferring to KU, I decided to switch gears and pursue a degree in Health and Physical Education. I am currently in the process of getting my Master of Science in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College.
Currently I am working at Fairfield USD 310. I am the PE teacher for the district. I am a certified Basic Archery Instructor through the National Archer in Schools Program. I am also a certified instructor through the American Red Cross and can certify anyone in first aid/CPR/AED pediatric through adult. Along with my teaching duties, I am a member of the Financial Committee for the Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (KAHPERD), which is our state organization. Other duties I have with KAHPERD is I am the voting member for our committee, which has given me the opportunity to directly shape the path Physical Education takes in our state.
I have coached football and track for seven years, and basketball for four years. In all of my experiences, I have had the most success in coaching Track. I am the Middle School Assistant Football Coach, the Assistant Middle School Basketball Coach, and the Assistant High School Track Coach. I have also been head coach for both football and basketball. During these seven years, I have a been a part of a Girls Class 6A Track and Field State Champion team, a Boys Class 6A Track and Field State Runner-up, Middle School Boys Basketball League Runner-up in 2019, and have taken 10 athletes in class 6A to state in track, nine of which placed in the top eight, and one athlete in Class 1A.
In my spare time, I am a very avid hunter and fisherman. I have enjoyed fishing for as long as I can remember and have always found time to go out and hit a pond or two. I am very involved with outdoor life, and enjoy spending most of my free time out and about in the wilderness. Recently, I have become more active with playing Pickleball, and has become one of my new favorite activities to do in my spare time!
